Dairy Club Places 2nd
Overall at NESA
The UVM Dairy Club recently participated in NESA (North East Student
Affiliates) at the University of New Hampshire. NESA is a competition
between agricultural schools in the northeast. The contest includes
research paper presentations, quiz bowl trivia and livestock judging
categories.
This year the
UVM Dairy Club received the following awards:
Placings (by team):
Quiz Bowl Trivia 6th place
Team Members: Rebecca Calder, Matt Sammons,
Mehgan Patterson, Elizabeth Salsgiver
Livestock Judging 5th place
Team Members: Erin King, Brittany Sweeney,
Kayla Clark, Henry Cammack
Matt Sammons placed
10th individually for judging
Livestock Judging 8th place
Team Members: Renee Elliott, Gina Candela,
Steph Striar, Jack O'Day
Research Paper Presentations:
Team Members: Lucy Howe, Melissa Woolpert,
Morgen Doane, Sarah Morrison
Melissa placed 10th individually for paper
presentations
Three of the 4 teams placed in the top ten for judging or quiz bowl and
two individuals placed 10th.
Overall UVM's Dairy Club placed 2nd
just behind Penn State. This
has been their best placing for the past few years.
The Dairy
Club
participates in NESA every year and the club has a long history of
placing among the top universities in this agricultural competition.
All members of the Dairy Club are welcome to participate in this
exciting annual event.!
