Brown PelicanPelican Harbor Seabird Station

Location:  Miami, Florida

Founded in 1980, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is a nationally and internationally recognized center for seabird rehabilitation.  They seek to conserve the area's wildlife through rehabilitation, education and research.

One internship is available each semester for students enrolled in a pre-veterinary program or related biological field.  The main focus of the internship is animal care, but interns may participate in public education and fund raising events or other activities required of a non-profit organization.

This is an unpaid internship; however, there is a stipend provided for meals.  Housing is available on an air-conditioned houseboat with shower and laundry facilities nearby.  Do not contact Pelican Harbor Seabird Station for your initial inquiry; go to their website and click on Internships for more information.
