Cailin - "I found my passion this summer and that
is for teaching."
The Vershire Riding School, a horse
camp for children and adults, was founded in 1970. It is located on
over 400 acres of beautiful Vermont terrain, which includes five
Dressage arenas, a new indoor arena, many varied levels of Cross
Country jumping courses, two Stadium jumping fields, and miles and
miles of trails. Vershire Riding School is not highly competitive;
their business is to provide competent riders who appreciate and
practice, with intelligence and confidence, all aspects of sound
Cailin's goal was to gain hands-on experience in equine riding
instruction and stable management to compliment what she has learned in
Cailin's responsibilities for this internship include:
- Teach riding to a class of up to 7 students (dressage,
cross-country jumping, stadium jumping, conditioning, trail riding, and
- Supervise students in mucking stalls, grooming and other barn
felt that in the three months that
I spent at this camp I learned many valuable skills that will help me
in my future in the equine industry."
