The Kentucky Equine Management Internship Program (KEMI) provides internship opportunities to students interested in pursing a career in the equine industry. Students choose to attend either the Spring Session, which emphasizes the breeding and foaling season or the Fall Session, which encompasses the yearling sales preparation and breaking season. Students are employed on working Thoroughbred farms in the central Kentucky area where housing is provided and they are paid an hourly wage. It is a unique opportunity to be exposed to many facets of the horse industry.
They are currently accepting applications for their Spring and Fall sessions. The deadline for applications for the Spring session is October 31st. The deadline for the Fall session is April 30th.
