The Vermont Humane Federation, Inc. is a strong, unified network of organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting the welfare of all animals. VHF member organizations generally include humane shelters, but also include organizations that do not house or adopt out stray or unwanted animals. They instead assist pet owners in having their pets spayed or neutered or have volunteers who act as foster parents for animals taken in abuse cases or waiting for adoption. All member organizations are in Vermont.
An internship with VHF provides a broad-based learning opportunity, with a focus on specific issues revolving around animal welfare. A portion of the internship centers on interpersonal and communication skills through direct contact with member organizations. Other areas of development include organization, creativity and computer skills. Experience with Word and Excel necessary. The intern will report directly to the Program Coordinator, unless otherwise requested, by email, phone and sometimes in person.

3. Processing of numbers obtained from interviews and production of final report.
4. Development of a standard reporting structure for shelters to use:
a) Collect different reporting formats
b) Survey members to see if they want to standardize reporting formats
c) Present the findings back to VHF Coordinator to report to the Board.
