Location:  worldwide

You can provide urgently needed help to grassroots projects in 24 amazing countries worldwide.  These worthwhile volunteer projects, which last from 1,2, or 3 week vacations (Escapes) or 4-24 weeks (Ventures), will make a lasting impact.

Examples of volunteer experiences include the Santa Cruz  Zoo which showcases Bolivia's diverse wildlife.  You could work with a variety of exotic animals and give much needed help to this zoo that has to downsize their staff.  The Zoo also preserves endangered species and provides educational workshops to school groups so they can learn about fragile Bolivian ecosystems.

At the zoo you might help staff care for and feed the animals, construct new habitats, landscape the grounds, or assist with general maintenance.  Spanish speakers could also act as tour guides.

In South Africa you get right up close to  wildlife by rotating between animal and nature conservation projects near Johannesburg and Cape Town.  Near Johannesburg, project work might include helping to manage ecosystems at a nature and animal reserve and caring for and feeding big cats. North of Jo‘burg, you could have an incredible opportunity of working at South Africa‘s largest monkey sanctuary near Kruger National Park. Or in Cape Town, you might be able to help nurse penguins back to health after oil spills or help tend exotic animals. You could also find yourself getting close to baboons and buffalo or caring for abandoned animals.

Bring an easy-going but hard-working spirit and you‘ll enjoy a variety of activities. This can include anything from removing invader plants at the nature conservancies to cleaning cages and preparing food for a huge variety of animals. Help improve the environment of the animals by assisting with land maintenance as well.
