san antonio New England Aquarium's
Giant Ocean Tank Internship
- (Christine San Antonio)

"My experience at the New England Aquarium was nothing short of amazing and I strongly recommend an internship with this non-profit organization. The work is unpaid and can be very demanding physically but I have never worked with a more enjoyable group of people doing something that I ended up truly loving. There are constant opportunities to gain some unique hands-on experience, such as assisting in a turtle medical exam or partaking in a stingray collecting trip. I was also able to spend some time working in other departments outside of the giant ocean tank and I consider them all to be of high caliber and ideal for anyone interested in marine animal care and handling, To any SCUBA divers out there, you will find no internship better than being a New England Aquarium diver in the giant ocean tank. Swimming with sharks and feeding stingrays and giant sea turtles has truly been a humbling and life altering experience; I suggest it to anyone who thinks that doing this two or three times a day would make an interesting summer."
