powell African Conservation Experience (ACE) Kulula Care for Wild Internship - (Olivia Powell)

"This internship was a journey that I will cherish for my whole life. Like most animal lovers, it had always been a dream of mine to travel to Africa and to see her special and iconic animals. However, through my internship with ACE, I was not only priviledged enough to see these animals, but I got to touch, play with, and care for a multitude of South African wildlife including rhinos, a lion cub, newborn serval kittens, kudu, bushbuck, duikers, caracals, vervet monkeys, and even birds of prey. I would recommend this internship to anyone with a passion for working with wildlife, but especially to animal science students who are unsure of what they want to do with their degree upon graduation. In addition to offering the intern hands-on exprience with these unforgettable animals, this internship overall has the capacity to broaden a student's outlook on wildlife care/conservation in general, as well as giving the student a multitude of lessons on responsibility, safety with large animals, and successfully tackling challenging situations. I already want to go back!"

Olivia Powell volunteered at Care for Wild for three weeks during June/July of 2013.
