Internships & Careers

knipe ECHO Center for Lake Champlain - (Kerri Knipe)

Location:  Burlington, VT

"I would highly recommend the ECHO internship to other students. I developed skills that I can use for my future job whether it is in the animal field or not. I felt that it was a great opportunity to learn about a variety of species that are not taught in school. I learned how to feed and care for each animal individually. I was also able to develop communication skills by working with others. Team work is extremely important for the work field, and I felt that ECHO was a good place to meet other interns. I would highly recommend partaking in the demonstrations even if public speaking is an issue. I dread speaking in front of an audience, but I am so glad that I did it. I learned a lot about the species I researched and I learned how to talk comfortably in front of a crowd. This internship was a great learning experience that exposed me to the real world of working."
