Location: Milton, Vermont

Vermont Large Animal Clinic was founded in 2001 by Dr. Philip D. van Harreveld and is located in Milton, Vermont. The hospital supports the ambulatory practice that has grown to 3 full-time veterinarians. The ambulatory practice covers the geographic area of Northwestern Vermont. The ambulatory practice is focused on performance horses, reproduction, dentistry, preventative medicine, and general equine medicine and surgery.

The hospital consists of a surgical room and accompaning recovery room that is used for orthopedic and general equine surgical cases. Lacerations, orthopedic surgery, dental surgery, and a wide range of soft tissue surgery including colic surgery are performed routinely. There is 1 large treatment area that include stocks for outpatient visits and in-house standing procedures. The hospital has a total of 8 stalls in the main equine barn and 1 isolation stall that is used to treat horses with contagious diseases such as equine colitis, strangles, and others. The patients are cared for by the technicians in the hospital and overnight patient monitoring is availiable for medical treatment of colics.
