Location:  Randolph Center, Vermont
 
This internship is a 1 year position designed foreither 2 or 4 year degree graduates in Dairy Science, Ag Economics, or Animal Science.  The goal of this position is to enhance technical skills and knowledge of Dairy Busness Management for the individual, and improve the Vermont Technical College team.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate or Bachelor Degree in Dairy Science, Agricultural Economics, or Animal Science.
  2. A high level of motivation, desire to continue learning, and the ability to lead by exaple.
  3. The ability to work with ithers and under supervision of farm staff.
  4. The ability to perform a wide variety of tasks relating to farm management, animal husbandry, and assistingwith fieldwork as needed.
Responsibilities:
  1. Work wit Farm Staff and Faculty to promote student interaction iwththe VTC Farm.
  2. Perform assisnged duries, including afternoon milkings and farm supervisor every third weekend.
  3. Teach a freshmen introdyctory diary management course.
  4. Assist in maintiaing records establishing protocols, and integrating new ideas into the farm.
  5. Train and supervise studetns that work on the farm.
  6. Attend seminars and short courses as schedule permits that will add alue to the program.
Salary:
Salary is commensurate with qualificaios and is accompanied by the Applicable Vermont State Colleges benftis pacage.
