heiferproject Heifer International LogoHeifer Project International - Overlook Farm

Location:  Rutland, Massachusetts

Heifer Project International is a non-profit organization trying to put a stop to world hunger and poverty. Over a course of about two years, Heifer volunteers teach different people how to take care of the animals that are most needed for their environment. After hard training, a home finally gets their cow, their goat, their chickens, and a better life.

Overlook Farm is one of Heifer's three headquarters in the United States, and is strictly a learning center. Groups of people come from all over the country to tour the farm's five Global Villages and the barn full of some fairly exotic animals. As a Livestock Education Intern, you will lead tours and teach children and adults about what it's like to live in Thailand, Peru, Guatemala, Kenya, Tibet, and even a very low-income farm in the United States.
