Location:  central Kentucky

Gunston Hall Farm is a 300 acre thoroughbred horse farm. It has been family run since 1980. They have over 100 broodmares during the breeding season and they foal about 60 mares. During the summer they prepare about 20 yearlings for the Keeneland September sale. One member of the family is an equine veterinarian and does many in-house minor surgeries that all interns are able to watch. Interns are expected to work a 48-hour week (from 7 to 4, six days a week with one day off). They prefer that students have horse experience but it is not a requirement. Housing is provided. This is a paid internship.
