Location:  Bar Harbor, Maine.

The Jackson Laboratory is an independent non-profit mammalian genetic research laboratory.  Their summer program teaches students to work independently under a sponsor at the laboratory on projects that involve original research within the scope of their sponsor's ongoing research programs.  Research is conducted in the following areas:  cancer, bioinformatics and computational biology, developmental biology and aging, genomics, hematology/immunology, metabolic diseases, neurobiology and sensory deficits, and resource related research.

The program runs for ten to twelve weeks.  Each undergraduate student receives a full scholarship to cover the program fee and a stipend of $2500.  Housing is provided for all students.
