Location:  Morrisville, Vermont

North Country Animal League is a "limited access" facility meaning they do not euthanize animals in their care to make room for incoming animals. When the shelter is full they maintain a waiting list.

NCAL's mission to to promote compassionate and responsible relationships between humans and animals.  They do this through:

  • Sheltering of homeless, abused and neglected animals - and sometimes their litters
  • Spay/neuter programs
  • Adoptions
  • Education
  • Support of cruelty prevention
North Country Animal League seeks an intern who would care for the animals in the shelter, doing health checks, feeding, cleaning, walking, prepping for surgery, helping with transfers, checking in animals and giving vaccines.  This intern would also work with the canine and feline specialist.  This unpaid internship can be done during the year, winter break, or over the summer.  The length of time and hours can be flexible.
