Location:  Rupert, VT.

Merck Forest & Farmland Center is a 3,130 acre center in Vermont that encompasses forest, meadow and farm, and is managed by a private, non-profit organization.  Fall intern staff are involved in significant work of both indoor and outdoor natures.  Full-time position.  Responsibilities vary with weather and seasonal priorities but usually include teaching, lesson development, preparation and running of public and special programs, computer work, phone answering, visitor assistance, sales, office tasks, trail maintenance, facility maintenance, cleaning, building projects, forestry projects, production of firewood, gardening, large & small animal care, harvesting, winter food storage and other farm chores.  Interns must be 18+.  Interest in conservation and education, commitment to learn while living and working cooperatively with others, desire to live in a simple and rustic setting, a positive and team-oriented attitude, and hard-working nature are required.  Familiarity with natural science; work with children; experience with office work, forestry, or farm management; and an easygoing sense of humor are assets.

Stipend/Wages: (if known) $65.00 / week
