Healthy Horse Workshop to be held
Saturday, April 14th
The fourth annual Healthy Horse Workshop,
hosted by the University of Vermont Horse Barn, will be
held Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 8:30 am - 4:00
pm. Seminars will be held on the university campus
in Fleming Museum 101 from 8:30 am until 11:30 am with
demonstrations at the UVM Horse Barn located at 500
Spear Street from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. UVM Horse Barn
members will be on hand to answer questions and will be
offering fun activities for the entire family during
their Open Barn from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Click

print out a registration form. UVM students with UVM ID
and kids under 12 will be admitted free.
A
"hands-on" educational opportunity
The
UVM
Cooperative Horse Barn is an educational facility in which
students
have the opportunity to learn skills such as equine management,
teamwork and leadership while bringing their horse with them to
college.Membership in the UVM Horse Barn requires a large time commitment as well as a willingness to work with others to achieve the common goal of running the facility in conjunction with the UVM educational mission. Members of the UVM Horse Barn pay a decreased boarding fee and are responsible for the care of their own horse as well as additional chores and time spent at the barn completing horse watch duties and attending meetings. Students are also largely involved in the management and decision-making processes within the Horse Barn.
