The UVM Horse Barn Co-op
UVM Horse Barn to hold Halloween Event October 24thYoung kids and their friends and family are invited to a fun-filled evening trick-or-treating at the UVM Horse Barn on Monday, October 24th from 5:30-7:00 pm. Students and their horses will be dressed up for the event, passing out candy at each horse stall. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring buckets to fill with candy. There will be various activities at the craft table or kids can run through the obstacle course in the arena. Dress warm, as the barn and arena can be cold this time of year. Park at Gutterson Fieldhouse to be shuttled to and from the barn. A $3 suggested donation per child is appreciated. Thank you to the UVM Horse Barn Cooperative students, the Dressage Team, and Equus students for planning this much anticipated event.
A "hands-on" educational opportunity
UVM Cooperative Horse Barn is an educational facility in which students
have the opportunity to learn skills such as equine management,
teamwork and leadership while bringing their horse with them to college.
Membership in the UVM Horse Barn requires a large time commitment as
well as a willingness to work with others to achieve the common goal of
running the facility in conjunction with the UVM educational
mission. Members of the UVM Horse Barn pay a decreased boarding fee and
are responsible for the care of their own horse as well as additional
chores and time spent at the barn completing horse watch duties and
attending meetings. Students are also largely involved in the
management and decision-making processes within the Horse Barn.
