Policies Affecting Student Status

AUDITING A COURSE

Because students receive no credit for an audited course, this option is rarely utilized. However, with the approval of the student’s dean and the course instructor, a regularly enrolled student may audit a course. Students choosing this option generally view the information provided by the course as a supplement to the declared major or minor.  Auditors have no claim on the time/service of the course instructor and must meet minimum levels of performance in the course to receive an audit grade on the transcript. Tuition is charged at the applicable rate. No change will be made after the enrollment period to allow credit for courses audited.

Forms are available in Student Services in the Dean’s Office, the Department Chair’s office  and the Registrar’s Office, Waterman. Signatures required include that of the student, the advisor and the instructor.
