|
From Our Campaign Chairman:
David Abbott - UVM '73, Former President and CEO of Purina Mills, Inc. |
"The CREAM Program is a truly
unique educational experience. Each student learns the true
meaning of responsibility and accountability for the decisions they
make and the actions they take. Their experiences prepare them to
make a real
difference in their work environment, their personal lives and society
as a whole. The Rising to the Top Campaign is needed to fortify the future of this exceptional program. A new barn facility coupled with a solid endowment will give the CREAM program the firm operational and financial footing it needs to succeed for another generation. Contributions at all levels will enable us meet our $1.0 million goal. There are a number of special naming opportunities associated with significant donations to this campaign. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!" |

| CREAM alumni testimonials Ellen Wright ’94 (now a veterinarian): “The two keys to CREAM are 1)hands-on involvement and 2) the motivation for learning that CREAM inspires by placing the responsibility for the success of the business and the welfare of the animals squarely on our shoulders as individuals and as a group.” Katy Biltekoff Kelly ’92 (now a school teacher): ”CREAM taught me how to work in a very diverse community of learners. It helped me to learn to ask questions and find my own answers – something I think kids struggle with. Educators would classify CREAM as learning through inquiry – which we did all the time in managing CREAM.” Patti Brennan ’94 (now in vet school): “The structure of CREAM allowed us to teach ourselves; this opened many doors which allowed us to succeed. We’ve learned a great deal about each other. We became a team. I’ll never forget the people I’ve worked with, or the experience which came with it.” |
