Dragon Boat Festival
Sunday, August 5, 2007
Lake Champlain, Burlington Waterfront

An energetic group of ASCI faculty and staff participated in the 2007 Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival held on August 5th at the Burlington waterfront.  Their team, UVM FACE (Food, Agriculture, Community, Environment), finished second in the Cap & Gown category.  Seventy-seven teams participated in this fundraising event whose beneficiaries were Dragonheart, Vermont's only dragon boat club consisting of breast cancer survivors; and Vermont Respite House, which provides care for people who have a terminal illness.  Our thanks go to ASCI's Fran Kinghorn, Kari Haddock, Satomi Kato, Deb Paradis, Russ Hovey, and Julie Smith for being a part of this worthwhile event.
